Flexibility for Individuals and Families
Whether you're an individual looking to make a difference on your own or a family seeking a meaningful experience together, we have opportunities tailored to your needs. You can choose to dedicate your efforts to a specific project or explore various ministries during your stay with us. We provide a supportive environment where everyone can contribute their unique skills and talents. Children are encouraged to participate under the supervision of their parents.
Scheduling Your Visit
Reserving dates for your visit is straightforward. A $100 deposit secures your chosen dates, with this fee applied toward your room and board expenses. We welcome volunteers year-round, offering opportunities during various seasons. Just let us know your preferred dates, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Accommodation and Meals
During your stay at the Shalom Children's Home Campus, expect comfortable accommodation and delicious meals. The cost for room and board is $37.00 per person per night.
Length of Stay
Whether you're joining us for a short or extended period, your presence is valued. We welcome volunteers for stays ranging from a few days to several weeks. Each day presents an opportunity to make a meaningful impact and create lasting memories.
Safety
Your safety is our top priority. Our home is completely blocked in, providing a secure environment for all individuals and families participating in our mission. Additionally, we have a dedicated security guard on-site 24/7 to ensure constant vigilance and peace of mind. To further enhance safety measures, no one will be permitted to travel outside the home or ministry sites without the accompaniment of one of our trained staff members. Your well-being is paramount when you serve with us.
Travel Documentation
Entering El Salvador requires only a passport. Upon arrival, a 90-day visa can be obtained at the Immigration Counter for $12.00 in U.S. cash. If minors are part of your group, notarized parental authorization letters from both parents are required for presentation at the U.S. airport before departure.
Training
Upon confirmation of your visit, we'll provide informational materials to help you prepare. Additionally, an orientation session will be conducted upon your arrival to familiarize you with projects, policies, schedules, and facilities.
Daily Schedule
Your daily schedule will include opportunities for volunteering, meals, and leisure time. We also offer daily gatherings for prayer, reflections, and discussions, providing a chance for volunteers to connect and share experiences.
