Evangelism With A Heart

How Victor & Julio are starting out the New Year

These young men are proud to have something many children in El Salvador will never have a high school diploma. In fact, only about 33% of children eligible to attend secondary school actually do. Many have to drop out of school before 9th grade to start work to help support their family, others live too far away from a school to walk alone, and parents cannot afford to take off work to escort them, let alone pay roundtrip bus fare.

Thanks to our Harvesting In Spanish praying and giving partners, the Shalom Children's Home kids go to school with new uniforms and shoes, school supplies, and textbooks each year, beginning with K-4 and continuing through to high school graduation. Victor and Julio are our latest Shalom family graduates, and we are so proud of them!

Out of 73,000 high school students who took the national SAT graduation exam, Victor (above right), placed #25 in the nation and had a perfect score in 3 of the 5 subjects that were tested!

Victor has his sights on a college education and has applied to military school and is considering other options in technology/software coding. We are looking for scholarship opportunities for him in and outside of El Salvador.

Julio (above right) excels in math and has received a full academic scholarship to a two-year aeromechanic school called Aeroman. This company provides maintenance for airlines such as Southwest, United, American, Avianca, Jet Blue, and others. It is renowned in the Central American region. Once Julio finishes, he will be a candidate to be hired to work there.

On behalf of Victor and Julio, thank you for your prayers and the investment you have made in these promising young men!
